Tolerance Awareness on the Road

gk lalu lintas 01Is the nation of Indonesia is a nation full of tolerance (tepo seliro)? It is the interests of others. But if we look at the situation look on the road, perhaps we hesitated.

Yesterday morning when going for work, there’s congestion on a road. My wife and I wonder, in fact this road rarely jump traffic. It is a narrow road. Only 2 cars fit was passed. But the density of vehicles coming and going not so much.

With difficulty, I drive this congestion. After a few minutes and put a lot of wasted effort, I finally met also with the traffic node. Apparently there are 2 car park almost opposite. On the left the right road. Because of space left only one lane, so that passing vehicles should turn.

I look around searching about where the second driver of this car. A car parked in front of a house. Maybe he’s the owner or guest house. One car was parked in front of a shop. I guess the driver must eat there.

I shook my head. Anyone who last parking, vehicles should be arranged so that no parallel with other vehicles. If he will know this car should be moved elsewhere. And if you say that parking is a meal in the cafe, I’d shake his head again. Because congestion is clearly visible from the visitor at the stall.

If I recall, this was not the first incident and the only one. Much. There was a car parked near the corner. Parked cars or less aside. The car stalled in the middle of the road, when it should be marginalized. Motorcycle parking lot with transverse position. And others.

By law they are not wrong to do. There is no prohibition to doing that. But try to be noted by their actions. Many people are harmed. Anybody want to be late for school. There are going to work to the office to be blocked. Wasted time, energy squeezed, gasoline wasted.

Are they not able to place themselves in a disadvantaged position? If the driver was reckless in the aggrieved party, they must also be fuming. Is not there a sense of tolerance (tepo seliro) in their hearts? Would not it be the soul of Indonesia. Even back then till teach everywhere.

Is a sense of tolerance that has faded? Not just faded. If it still looks faded leftovers. I’m worried that the feeling was gone altogether. It makes the road into fierce jungle using the law of the jungle.
